As it was bound to happen, it happened eventually. Now, Coronavirus has also forced The Batman shoot to be delayed for at least the next two weeks, according to a tweet by The Hollywood Reporter. Warner Bros’ film is the latest addition in the list of already postponed Hollywood flicks and TV shows.
The Matt Reeves directorial is still a year away from its June 2021 release, and the latest delay in its production won’t hamper the schedule in anyways. It's just that the makers want to assess the situation and then proceed further with the shooting.
The outbreak of coronavirus has seriously damaged and affected the entertainment industry across the globe, especially Hollywood.
Recent reports have revealed that yet-to-be-finished Disney Plus series under Marvel, Falcon and the Winter Soldier has also been delayed now. The production has been shut down for two weeks due to the COVID-19 threat and the crisis caused by it.
Coming back to The Batman, then the DC superhero film stars Robert Pattinson as The Dark Knight. He will be taking the mantle from actor Ben Affleck who previously portrayed the character of Gotham’s hero in the past DC movies.
Along with Pattinson, the cast of the film also includes Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Paul Dano as Riddler, Colin Farrell as Penguin, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.
Fans of the superhero will be highly excited next year when the new iteration of the caped crusader comes on the big screen. The most popular Batman in movies so far has been Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne in The Dark Knight trilogy by genius modern director Christopher Nolan.
