The Rise of Skywalker review reactions: When JJ Abrams came up with a freshness-filled and rejuvenating tale of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015, fans’ hopes were revived again after a long-long time to see a great and engaging new trilogy in the space-based cinematic saga, which was first started way back in 1977 by George Lucas. However, with 2017’s The Last Jedi (helmed by Rian Johnson), the response wasn’t so impressive and even got divided among the die-hard lovers of Star Wars. But now, The Rise of Skywalker has made it official that the end of this trilogy is not what everyone was expecting.
'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' is the worst film in the franchise, according to all the major websites and renowned critics, following the world premiere of the flick earlier this week. Although it’s yet to release in theaters on Friday, in the US, hopes and enthusiasm already seem to have vanished because of the recently revealed Rotten Tomatoes’ score, which is just 56%. In comparison, it’s even lower than Attack of the Clones!
Here are the reactions from major websites, including The Guardian, People, Entertainment Weekly, and their critics who are not at all impressed with the latest Star Wars instalment.
Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Rise of Skywalker is releasing in cinemas on December 20, 2019. It will be highly important for it to get a great response from the moviegoers at least. Otherwise, it will absolutely turn out to be a big collapse of an ending to a trilogy. The future of the Star Wars film franchise also depends on this one.
