In a big setback for all the fans and die-hard lovers of the MCU, the latest news which has shocked the entire fandom is that Spider-Man is out of the Marvel Studios’ future films, based on the character featuring actor Tom Holland. Yes, you read that right.

Sony just recently tweeted about the split with Disney, (the company owning Marvel Studios).

Sony just released a statement on Tuesday night, on August 20, 2019, saying that it was “disappointed” by Disney’s demand for having a higher share in future Spider-Man films and also by reducing the involvement of Marvel president Kevin Feige in the movies related to the web-slinger.

“We are disappointed, but respect Disney’s decision not to have him continue as a lead producer of our next live-action Spider-Man film.”

It also added that they hope this (deal scenario) might change in the future, but they also understand that the many new responsibilities that Disney has given him (Feige), which includes all the newly added Marvel properties from 20th Century Fox, won’t let him get time to work on the property they do not own.

It is to be noted that the negotiations regarding the Spider-Man films in the MCU’s future, were going on for some time, with Disney demanding that the next installments based on Tom Holland’s version of Peter Parker be evenly financed between both the studios and also that Kevin act as a consultant producer.

But Sony wanted to have previously existing terms, which were finalized in the past when Marvel Studios struck a deal with it in 2015.

Meanwhile, this news about Spider-Man separating from Marvel Cinematic Universe has shattered the expectations of everyone who loves Tom Holland’s Spidey and also the Avengers films in which he was involved, since Captain America: Civil War, in 2016.
Even the co-star of Holland, in Civil War and Avengers: Endgame, Jeremy Renner aka the Hawkeye, has come forward to speak on the issue about the Disney-Sony deal.
The actor posted on his social media account, asking Sony to return Spider-Man back to Marvel, completely.

And it is rightly so, because of the success of Spider-Man being uncomparable as a part of the MCU franchise. Recently, Far From Home became the biggest box-office hit for Sony. And it is only because of its relation to the Avengers storyline.

Social Media has been flooded with #SaveSpiderMan, which is trending on Twitter.
