The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have welcomed their first child, who’s a baby boy. It has been confirmed by the royal family. The newborn baby is Queen Elizabeth’s eighth-great grandchild and seventh in line to the British throne.
Meghan Markle went into labor early in the morning while Harry was by his side, said the Kensington Palace in a statement. The news was officially tweeted too, by the palace.

The child was born at around 5:26 am, weighing 7 pounds, 3 ounces.
"It's been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined," Harry told the reporters after becoming a father for the first time.
"How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we're both absolutely thrilled and so grateful to all the love and support from everybody out there. It's been amazing," he added.
Harry also said that he’s incredibly proud of her wife, and they both are thinking for a name for the baby.
“As every father and parent would ever say, you know, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I'm just over the moon," he told further.
Although the birth of the royal baby was a huge moment for the parents, all in all, it was eventually just a private affair as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex didn’t follow the old traditions. They didn’t have their baby at the Lindo Wing of St.Mary’s Hospital in London. The place is where, on past occasions, Princess Diana and Kate gave birth to all of their children. It’s also where they had posed for the press on the steps outside, with their babies.
According to what the palace said, currently, Meghan and her baby are both well at the couple’s home at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, west of London. Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, was also there with the couple during the child’s birth.
Both Meghan and Harry had recently moved to a cottage, for having a private birth of their child. This shows a kind of fiercely protective side of the parents, said Roya Nikkhah, the correspondent for The Sunday Times in Britain.
After getting the news of the baby’s birth, Meghan’s former co-stars on the legal drama, Suits, Patrick J. Adams, and Sarah Rafferty also congratulated her by posting tweets.
Just heard that the world just got heavier by 7 pounds and 3 ounces. Much love to him and his incredible parents. Learned first hand 7 months ago how transformational becoming a parent is and couldn’t be happier for Meghan and Harry as they begin this adventure. #playdatesoon— Patrick J Adams (@halfadams) 6 May 2019
