Mulan Trailer: Disney’s Another Live-Action Remake Promises To Give A New Vibe To Modern Generation; Social Media Fans In Tears!

'Mulan' is a live-action flick based on the 1998 animated film of the same name. Actress Liu Yifei will be playing the protagonist in the 2020 remake by Disney

Nostalgia was felt again when fans were not able to resist their tears after watching the official trailer for Disney’s next live-action remake of its 1998 animated feature, Mulan. The first trailer for the 2020 flick was released yesterday, on December 5, 2019. Actress Liu Yifei is portraying the title character of a brave daughter who becomes a part of the Chinese Imperial Army in place of her father, due to his ailing health.

Being a Disney remake, Mulan also looks to offer memorable music and the latest trailer brings a lot from its original predecessor, especially the theme of the song ‘Reflection’—a fan favorite and the track which made Christina Aguilera a sensation, and actually started her singing career.

In the remake, the music has been composed by Harry Gregson-Williams.

The footage, being close to 2-and-half-minutes in duration, shows Liu, a daughter who aspires to get a place in the Chinese Army after she learns that her father, who gets chosen to be a soldier, falls ill. She wants to take his place and save his life by not letting him take part in the war, because of his ailment.

Those who remember the original Mulan will surely find similarities in the new one as well, but several things seem fresh too, as of now. The entire vibe of the remake feels emotional, full of family love, and a determined daughter fighting for honour.

Apart from the lead actress, the also cast includes Donnie Yen (as Commander Tung who is a mentor to Mulan), Tzi Ma (as the protagonist’s father), Jason Scott (as Bori Khan), and Gong Li (as a powerful witch), among others.
Directed by Niki Caro, the live-action movie will be arriving in theaters next year, on March 27, 2020, in the US.
Meanwhile, here are the reactions from the ‘Mulan’ fans who are not able to get enough of the trailer.
