MCU News: Hawkeye May Be Recast Following Jeremy Renner Controversy; No Official Word Yet From Marvel

Actor and MCU star Jeremy Renner may soon be in trouble following the entire controversy regarding the personal issues with his ex-wife Sonni Pacheco after she alleged him of threatening to kill her and himself with a gun in his mouth. She had also filed a motion for having sole custody of their daughter, giving the reasons for the actor’s addiction to alcohol and cocaine. Now, according to speculations (no official confirmation) and reports by news website ‘We Got This Covered’, Marvel may go for a recasting of the Hawkeye character in the franchise.

It also means that Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye—and was going to be seen in the Disney+ series of the same name—may get a soft firing by Marvel due to his personal life problems. And his professional life is going to suffer a lot if that actually happens.

Despite the actor’s clarification about his role in the conflicts with his ex-wife, things are not looking great for him as of now.

And rumor has it that Marvel has now started looking for another actor, to have a replacement for the role of Hawkeye, because the series which is scheduled to arrive for streaming next year, is soon going to go for production.

Although there’s no official word yet from Marvel Studios, other sources are hinting towards a possible recasting. But if that happens to be the case, then it won’t be great for the character itself, as he’s been a part of the franchise for more than 8 years now. And considering the events of Avengers: Endgame, it won’t be justified if any new actor is hired for the role, because the fans will not be able to connect with a new face at this moment.
