The expectations were so high that no one could even predict the end result being so big! And now the official figures have come out. Avengers: Endgame shattered the box-office history by becoming the first movie ever to make a billion dollars in just its opening weekend! Yes, you read that absolutely right.
MCU’s 22nd and Final movie of the Infinity Saga, Endgame, collected more than $1.2 billion globally, in its opening weekend—a new world record. It achieved the milestone in just 5 days of its release in the first week. The Marvel Saga's previous record holder was none other than its predecessor, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War that made around $640 million, worldwide, during its opening week.
Moving further, and adding another milestone in the United States, Endgame raked in an unimaginable $350 million domestically! The past record was of Infinity War, last year, that opened with a staggering $258 million in the US. No one could’ve ever thought that a movie can actually touch the mark of $300 million also. But now, history has been rewritten, and everyone’s cheering about it.
Apart from these two notable and highly important records, Endgame also made a new opening day collection record last week, on its release. The movie made nearly $158 million on just its first day alone, in US history! With that, it also broke 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ $119 million opening day mark.
All the box-office records are now bowing in front of the Marvel saga, Avengers: Endgame.
The movie is receiving a lot of praise and love from both the critics and the audiences.
Now a new prediction for the movie has also been set by the experts and movie fanatics—all-time biggest movie of history!
2009’s Avatar holds the top position currently, with a mammoth $2.7 billion box-office collection. And the way Endgame has opened and is going beyond the wildest of expectations, it looks certain now that the ultimate feat can be achieved, no matter whatever it takes!
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Marvel Studios' Endgame is running more than successfully in theaters worldwide.
