Joker Director Goes On A Deeper Dive For The Anti-Hero Movie
It has been a year-long wait since the audience started receiving rumors about their most liked DC universe villain, the joker returning to the larger screen in a standalone movie with the title same as the character's name. The only difference is that the director Todd Phillips's told he went for a deeper dive on the anti-hero story.
Joker who was last seen in the movie 'The Dark Knight' from the Nolan's Batman movie series is returning,Joaquin Phoenix will be playing the role of the titular character.
Todd has confirmed that the movie will not to be a part of DCEU but production of WarnerBros studios.
“It was a year-long process from when we finished the script just to get the new people on board with this vision because I pitched it to an entirely different team than made it,”saidPhillips in an interview with Los Angeles Times.
Todd had a hard time convincing Joaquin to play the character of joker who is known for refusing to play characters like Hulk/Bruce Banner and Dr.Stange earlier. He has also lost 24kg of weight to play the joker.
“That's really the only thing that's worthwhile, the other thing is connect-the-dots and paint-by-numbers, and who the [heck] cares about that?” Phoenix said.
“There are certain areas of the character that frankly still aren't clear to me, and I'm fine with that. There's something enjoyable about not having to answer a lot of those questions. It requires a certain amount of participation from the audience that feels differentPhoenix In Joker Trailer
In the final trailer of the movie joker which was dropped recently on WB's YouTube channel has already garnered 10 Million hits and Joaquin Phoenix can be seen playing the titular character flawlessly.
The trailer shows the life of a failed comedian, getting mocked by all those around him. One day, the clown leading a life of misery turns having found the evil side he findssolace in the corrupting minds, filling them with his sinister doctrines and thus, creating chaos in the town.
Robert De Niro can be seen playing the character of Murray Franklin, a famous comedian who insults Arthur Fleck on National television. Phoenix looks excruciating in his role, while Zazie Beetz, Marc Maron can be seen in supporting roles. Distributed by W
