Global Terrorist Hafiz Saeed Arrested in Pakistan Shifted To Unknown Location

Terrorist and JeM (Jaish-e-Mohammad) chief, Hafiz Saeed was arrested on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, by the CTD (Counter-Terrorism Department), in Pakistan.

He was arrested while traveling from Lahore to Gujranwala, for appearing before an anti-terrorism court, said the officials.

Various cases are pending against the ‘global terrorist’, who’s also the head of JuD, which is believed to be the front organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The terrorist organization was also behind the ‘Mumbai terror attack’ in 2008, on November 26, killing at least 166 people.

Currently, he’s been shifted to an unknown location.

The treasury department of the United States has also listed him as a ‘Specially Designated Global Terrorist’. Since 2012, the US had also offered a whopping USD 10 million for any information about him.

And now, due to the increasing global pressure from various nations who are against Hafiz Saeed and his terrorist group, the Pakistani authorities have now initiated rapid investigations about JuD and LeT, to inquire about their funding.

Previously this year, on May 1st, 2019, India had its moment of diplomatic victory, when Saeed was listed as a global threat by the United Nations after China had lifted its objection against him. Further, his assets and funding also got frozen.
