This year is going to be a big surprise for all superhero die-hards; and obviously, for the MCU fans also. 2020 has already begun with great anticipation being spread among the lovers of Marvel movies, who are keeping a close eye on everything coming out for them in theaters in this calendar of a new decade, whether its the highly awaited Black Widow solo flick starring Scarlett Johansson or the first proper sci-fi kind of MCU project, Eternals.

But MCU is not the only franchise having the leisure of giving out superhero films, because there’s also Sony. The latter’s intentions and plans of making its own world of Spider-Man based characters called the SUMC (Sony Universe of Marvel Characters) is slowly building up, believe it or not. And it was just even more solidified with Jared Leto’s Morbius trailer back in January.

Meanwhile, if you have any doubts or confusion about which Marvel flicks are coming out in 2020, then scroll below to know the details.

Black Widow - Marvel Studios

Starring actress Scarlett Johansson, it’s kind of a ‘wish granted’ movie to all MCU fans who were always wanting a solo Natasha Romanoff film in the already expanded universe created by Kevin Feige. Though it is coming late, it won’t be just a film for the sake of Black Widow—to do fan service. Marvel Studios knows exactly how to connect its installments with one another. It will be interesting to see what it has in store, especially in the post-credits scene—a ritual now synonymous with every MCU movie.

Morbius - Sony

Jared Leto will be playing a vampire or in other words a Dracula kind of character. This film has got a lot of momentum going for it since it’s first-ever trailer footage was released in January. But the main reason for its big anticipation is due to the appearance of a character from MCU’s Spider-Man film—Michael Keaton’s Vulture aka Adrian Toomes. It will be really amazing to see if this film is actually connected directly with Marvel Studios’ universe or not. But if yes, then in what manner it will be making an impact on other MCU films.

Venom 2 - Sony

Intended to be the third film, overall, in Sony's own, gradually building SUMC, Venom 2 will star Tom Hardy once again in the role of Eddie Brock aka the anti-hero, who had a lot of ups and downs in the last outing in his origin movie, back in 2018. Though the first installment wasn’t met with great reviews, it was a blockbuster worldwide, and the comic book fans loved it for Hardy’s great performance. As the sequel is being helmed by Andy Serkis, there will be hopes from this part to not only impress the box-office registers but also the critics as well.

With a great star cast including actress Angelina Jolie, along with Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek, Kit Harrington, and Lia McHugh, among many others, the Eternals will be a different experience for all the moviegoers, towards the end of this year.
