BoxOffice: Akshay Kumar Starrer Kesari’s collections Go Past 100 crore in India

Akshay Kumar’s historical period war-drama, Kesari is smashing the box office registers. The epic has now crossed the mark of Rs.100 crore in India, in just 9 days. Directed by Anurag Singh, the true story is based on the battle of Saragarhi. It involved 21 soldiers of Sikh regiment against an army of 10,000 Afghan invaders.

The film has collected approximately Rs.106 crore domestically so far.

Akshay plays the role of Havildar Ishar Singh who leads the group of his soldiers in the epic battle.

Releasing on the eve of Holi, on March 21st, the film had earned Rs.21.50 crore on its opening day itself, which was followed by a steady performance in its 2nd week also.

The movie received generally positive reviews, with critics praising Akshay for his portrayal and the film for its presentation.

Distributed by Zee Studios, produced by Dharma Productions (Karan Johar), Cape of Good Films, and Azure Entertainment, the Kesai also stars actress Parineeti Chopra in the role of Akshay’s wife Jeevani Kaur.

The cast also includes Rakesh Chaturvedi, Vivek Saini, Vikram Kocchar, Toranj Kayvon, Suvinder Vicky, Vansh Bharadwaj, Ravinder Pawar, Sumeet Singh Basra, Ajit Singh Mahela, Sandeep Nahar, Harvinder Singh, Rakesh Sharma, Adhrit Sharma, Harbhagwan Singh, Rajdeep Singh, Gurpreet Toti, and Harry Brar.

The score for the film is composed by Raju Singh, along with other composers like Tanishk Bagchi, Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Chirantan Bhatt, Jasleen Royal, Jasbir Jassi, and Gurmoh.
