The threat caused by Coronavirus has led to people refraining from attending public events, but Apple seems to have found a solution for that. Previously, there was a fear regarding WWDC 2020’s fate this year considering the outbreak of COVID-19.
However, as per the recent announcement made by the California tech giant, on its website, Worldwide Developers Conference 2020 is happening in June, for sure—but in a new online 'innovative' format!
“We are delivering WWDC 2020 this June in an innovative way to millions of developers around the world, bringing the entire developer community together with a new experience,” said the senior vice president of Apple Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller.
With the help of Keynote and online sessions, millions of developers will be able to connect with each other in real-time, simultaneously.
Apple mentioned on the website, citing the “current health situation”, that there was a requirement of a “new WWDC 2020 format”, for delivering the entire event with just the online keynote and sessions, while also providing “a great learning experience for our entire developer community, all around the world”.
The company will be sharing all the details about the program in the upcoming weeks.
Moreover, Craig Federighi, the senior vice president of Apple’s Software Engineering, said that the event will be big as far as all the new products and technologies, that they are working on, are concerned.
Adding further, he also said that he’s looking forward to all the developers for getting their hands on the new codes and interact in an entirely different way with the engineers at Apple.
Currently, the global community of developers working for Apple includes more than 23 million registered developers, in more than 155 nations and regions.
All the additional information about WWDC 2020 will be made available in the period between now and June, via email through the Apple Developer app and on the official website.
